Private Commission - Champagne Bag

I have been eager to post images of this bag for quite some time but always like to make sure that commissioned items have been passed on to their recipient before I do - just in case.

This champagne bag was created as a private commission. The main body of the bag is a lightweight denim and is fully lined in matching denim and calico. The handles are shoulder-length and have been reinforced for extra durability.

The appliqué motifs have been created using silks, satins and a very fine bottle green babycord. The champagne glasses are a satin stitch outline and the champagne bubbles have been created with sequins and hand-embroidery. All other embroidery detail and text is hand-guided machine embroidery.

Personalised Baby Gifts

Now that I have passed this present on I can safely post images without spoiling the surprise!

I used a shop bought plain blanket and bib for this gift set and gave them the personal touch by adding appliquéd letters and an appliquéd tractor motif. As this gift is intended for much use and much washing I made sure that all the appliqué fabrics had been pre-washed before stitching down to avoid any shrinkage. This also gives the fabrics a softer feel and is nicer against baby's skin.

The recipient was very happy with this gift set and it was lovely to see the blanket and bib being used straight away.

New Bags

I am in the process of setting up a new shop (details to follow soon) so have been busy making more stock. These two bags have been made using two of the lovely Japanese print fabrics I received in my last order from Nuno.plus fabrics.

The denim and Matryoshka print bag I shall be keeping for myself to use as a shopping bag and a little walking advert for my products! The chocolate brown and tortoise print bag will be appearing in my new shop soon.

I have taken great care in making these bags. The pattern I used is one I created last summer and thought was simple yet elegant. The finish is high quality with re-enforced double-stitched handles, a fully lined interior and bound seams. Both bags have an internal zipped pocket in the matching print fabric and fasten with a magnetic clasp. These bags are designed to look smart but also to be durable and to last.

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment. More designs to follow soon.
