Appliqué Characters - Cinderella

Continuing with the children's design theme here is a fairytale design. These appliqué details have been taken from a larger irregular patchwork style Cinderella artwork. I am pleased with the soft pastel colours of this design making it girly without being overly pink.

Appliqué Characters - Fairy Cakes!

I love designing fairies! These three are my Fairy Cake Fairies and are part of a larger appliquéd artwork with cake making details in a patchwork style.

Fairy cakes are great subject matter for appliqué/embroidery designs as you can add plenty of bead/sequin/trim detail until they look good enough to eat. I like the combination of fairies and cakes together reminding me of the fun cookery books I used as a child.

♥ Embroidered Cards - Valentines ♥

Here are a few examples of embroidered valentines cards from my 2008 collection. The two pink designs on the left were created for my portfolio and the one on the right was developed from the card I made to send.

All cards are fabric on a card base with hand and machine-embroidered stitch detail and button/sequin embellishment.

Embroidered Accessories - Purses & Bags

This is my first installment of handmade embroidered accessories I have created. These have all been made for close friends and designed personally for each individual.

This matching bag and purse set was made for my good friend Laura. I make my bags and purses using natural fabrics wherever possible and this set is wool and silk. The applique motifs were cut from the fabric used for the lining - a beautiful butterfly silk bought in Shanghai.
